Bastian Annas Saputra, ayah dari tiga orang anak yaitu Zea (14), Gwynn (9), Hazel (1,5) dan istri bernama Intan kelahiran Kota Reyog Ponorogo, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Sempat tinggal dan berkuliah di Malang, akhirnya menetap di Bandung sejak tahun 2002. Pada awalnya, fotografi merupakan hobby namun sekarang meningkat menjadi passion, mulai di bangku kuliah jurusan Teknik Industri, Institut Teknologi Nasional Malang sekitar tahun 2000. Secara khusus genre fotografi yang digelutinya adalah mengabadikan aktivitas manusia - people dan human interest, selain itu travel photography. Akhir tahun 2015 hingga saat ini, lebih dari 50 penghargaan dan kontes fotografi pernah diperolehnya baik nasional maupun internasional diantaranya dari Pewarta Foto Indonesia kategori Citizen Journalist, Feature di Majalah National Geographic Indonesia, Buku Dokumenter The Other Hundred Entrepreneurs Internasional, Terbaik 50 Internasional Agora Images. Selain itu penulis juga membantu beberapa lembaga khususnya NGO dalam hal dokumenter program melalui fotografi sehingga pesan dari program bisa tersampaikan, menginspirasi dan berdampak.

Passion dalam bidang fotografi ini selaras dengan pekerjaan profesionalnya yaitu dalam bidang economic development di Indonesia melalui lembaga non profit organization (NGO). Sejak tahun 2002 hingga 2007 aktif di beberapa NGO dan konsultan dalam bidang pengembangan manusia dan wilayah di Jawa Barat dan Indonesia. Selanjutnya mulai tahun 2008 hingga 2017 aktif di NGO Perkumpulan Untuk Peningkatan Usaha Kecil (PUPUK Bandung), 7 tahun diantaranya menjabat sebagai Direktur Eksekutif. Perannya di PUPUK mulai dari fund raising, implementasi program, supervisi hingga networking dengan berbagai mitra donor, NGO maupun perusahaan berhasil dijalankannya seperti dengan Ford Foundation, European Union, JICA, Chevron, PT. KPC, BP Indonesia, SNV, Mercy Corps, dll. Hingga saat ini tetap menjadi program advisor di PUPUK serta memberikan konsultansi pengembangan di sektor ekonomi secara independen.

Besides that, the writer also helps several institutions, especially NGOs, in documentary programs through photography so that messages from the program can be conveyed, inspire and have an impact.

This passion in the field of photography is in line with his professional work in the field of economic development in Indonesia through non-profit organizations (NGOs). From 2002 to 2007 he was active in several NGOs and consultants in the field of human and regional development in West Java and Indonesia. Furthermore, from 2008 to 2017, he was active in NGOs of the Association for Improving Small Business (PUPUK Bandung), 7 of whom served as Executive Director. His role in PUPUK starting from fund raising, program implementation, supervision to networking with various donor partners, NGOs and companies has been successfully carried out such as with the Ford Foundation, European Union, JICA, Chevron, PT. KPC, BP ​​Indonesia, SNV, Mercy Corps, etc. Until now it remains a program advisor at PUPUK and provides development consultancy in the economic sector independently.
