Menanam di Laut dengan Rumput Laut - Planting in the Sea with Seaweed
Rumput laut merupakan salah satu komoditi unggulan di kawasan Indonesia Timur. Daerah penghasil utama di Pulau Sulawesi dengan sentra terbesar di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Komoditi mayoritas ekspor ini banyak menyerap tenaga kerja terutama mereka dari kelompok bottom of pyramid mulai dari petani pembudidaya, panen, pasca panen, distribusi hingga pergudangan.

economy sektor rumput laut pada awalnya dimulai tahun 2015 di wilayah
Palopo, Luwu dan Makassar Sulawesi Selatan. Kemudian berkembang ke hamper
seluruh pesisir Sulawesi Selatan, sebagian Sulawesi Tenggara dan Kalimantan
Utara. Terdapat dua jenis rumput laut yaitu Glacilaria (tambak) dan Euchema
Cottoni (laut). Intervensi dilakukan mulai dari pembibitan, budidaya, pasca
panen, pengemasan, perdagangan hingga ekspor dengan melibatkan berbagai
stakeholder seperti pemerintah, asosiasi, universitas dan lain-lain.
Seaweed is one of the leading commodities in Eastern Indonesia. The main producing region on the island of Sulawesi with the largest centers in South Sulawesi Province. The majority of these export commodities absorb a lot of labor, especially those from the bottom of the pyramid group from farmers to farmers, harvest, post-harvest, distribution to warehousing.
The seaweed sector inclusive economic program was initially started in 2015 in the Palopo, Luwu and Makassar areas of South Sulawesi. Then it spread to almost the entire coast of South Sulawesi, parts of Southeast Sulawesi and North Kalimantan. There are two types of seaweed namely Glacilaria (ponds) and Euchema Cottoni (sea). The intervention was carried out starting from seeding, cultivation, post-harvest, packaging, trade to export by involving various stakeholders such as the government, associations, universities and others.
